CLINTON — The 9th annual Clinton Juneteenth event will be from 12:30 to 3 p.m. and 5 to 8:45 p.m. June 19 at the Riverview Park Bandshell.
The rain site will be the Ericksen Community Center.
This is a time to remember when, on June 19, 1864, Union soldiers enforced the Emancipation Proclamation and freed all the remaining slaves in Texas. The event is celebrated to highlight, promote and encourage cooperative relations among all cultural communities, celebrating freedom and equal rights in the United States.
Participants are asked to bring their own chairs, snacks and non-alcoholic beverages. Everyone is invited and encouraged to attend.
