River Arts Center to showcase exhibit

CLINTON — The River Arts Center will host an art exhibit this week.

Dan Budde’s art will be on display from Wednesday to Sunday, Nov. 13 at the center in Clinton.

A public reception will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 6, at the center. The gallery is open from 1 to 4 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday and for groups by calling 243-3300. All exhibits and receptions are free and open to the public.

Budde is an experienced artist, self-taught, with a range of themes and paintings.

Examples of his work will showcase landscapes, wildlife, people, buildings, surreal and fantasy pieces.

His paintings begin with an oil or acrylic underpainting, then oil for the finished work. He began his

career by knocking on doors offering to paint homes and landscapes and now paints any subject, any size, by commission from his website at Danbudde.com.

His work has been exhibited at the Old Brick Gallery, which was in Clinton, and at the Corner Gallery in Cedar Rapids.
