CLINTON — The Clinton Police Department has released the names of those involved in a Thursday morning crash that left one individual dead and two injured.
Clinton police officers were called at 1:20 a.m. Thursday to an accident in the 900 block of South Third Street.
At the scene, officers found a 1998 Monte Carlo with three occupants. A passenger, William S. Ziegler-Bounds, 21, Albany, Ill., was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the vehicle, Michael D. Franzen, 23, Clinton, and a second passenger, Nicholas W. Staker, 18, Fulton, Ill., were transported to Mercy Medical Center by Clinton City Ambulance. Franzen and Staker’s medical condition reports were unavailable Friday.
The accident remains under investigation by the Iowa State Patrol and the Clinton Police Department.
