Voters will fill school board, city seats

Consolidated elections will be held Tuesday, April 7, when residents of Whiteside and Carroll counties will have a chance to choose their elected officials.

Carroll County:

Zelma McNeal is running unopposed for village president in Chadwick. Janice M. Queckboerner is running unopposed for village clerk. Virginia Brinkmeier, Rick Bosacki and Daniel Tegeler are running for the three village trustee positions.

In the Chadwick-Milledgeville School District, four terms on the board of education are up for election. Kimberly Gebhardt, Galen Wirth and Sandi Baylor-Schmidt are running in Township 23N Range R6E. Elizabeth Hutchison and David Wagenknecht are running for Township 23N Range R7E.

In Mount Carroll, Carl R. Bates and Robert Sisler are running for mayor. Julie A. Cuckler is running unopposed for city clerk. Douglas P. Bergren is running unopposed for Ward 1 alderman. Doris M. Bork is running unopposed for Alderman Ward Two. William Sparboe is running unopposed for Alderman Ward Three.

In the West Carroll School District, Beverly Kilpatrick is running unopposed for a four-year term as a member of the board of education, district one. John Charles Brigham is running unopposed for a four-year term as a member of the board of education, district three. Michael D. Highland is running unopposed for a four-year term as a member of the board of education, district six. The open four-year term as a member of the board of education for district seven currently has no candidate.

In Savanna, William C. Lease and Larry J. Stebbins are running for mayor. Paul Hartman is running unopposed for city clerk. Carol L. Fosdick and Gail Dawn Bowman are running for the full term as Alderman Ward One. Chad Corbett and William A. Grummitt are running for an unexpired two-year term for Alderman Ward One. Rosalie Hansen is running unopposed for Alderman Ward Two. Lois D. Hunsaker and Charles Aaron Slagley III are running against each other for Alderman Ward Three. William “Bill” Robinson is running unopposed for Alderman Ward Four.

Whiteside County:

In Albany, Ricky L. Dettman, Eugene Walerius and Robert D. Bitler are running for village president. Deanne J. Anglese is running unopposed for village clerk. A. Brian Rowland, Duane D. Franzen Sr., Scott D. Gardner and Scott P. Manon are running for the three open village trustee positions.

Marcia M. Smith is running unopposed for village president in Erie. Michelle L. Misfeldt is running unopposed for village clerk. Jeff Wirth, Kathy Kuhnen, Lori Possley and Robert “Bud” Hunter Jr. are running for the three full-term village trustee positions. Mary “Kathy” Helm is running unopposed for an unexpired two-year term as village trustee.

In the Erie Community School District, four seats on the board of education are up for election. Joe Weaver, Gary M. Farral, Rhonda Pannier and Jamie VanDeWostine are running in the Township 19N Range 4E. Shelli Stover and Charles W. Brown are running in the Township 20N Range 4E. Mike Heun is running in the Township 20N Range 3E. Shelley DeShane and Thomas A. Pons are running in the Township 19N Range 3E.

In Fulton, Howard VanZuiden and Larry W. Russel are running against each other for mayor. Linda Hollis is running unopposed for city clerk. Eugene A. Field is running unopposed for Alderman Ward One. Merle Sterenberg is running unopposed for Alderman Ward Two. Warren Juist is running unopposed for Alderman Ward Three. William Loerop is running unopposed for Alderman Ward Four.

The River Bend Community Unit School District Two has three full terms and one unexpired two-year term for the board of education up for election. Mark Wade is running unopposed for the unexpired two-year term. Jane Orman Luker is running in the Township 21N Range 3E. Eric J. Fish and Daniel Paul Portz are running in the Township 21N Range 2E.

Roger K. Drey is running unopposed for mayor in Morrison. Melanie T. Schroeder is running unopposed for city clerk. Guy “Gus” Hayenga is running unopposed for Alderman Ward One. Sarah Thorndike is running unopposed for Alderman Ward Two. Patricia D. Zuidema is running unopposed for Alderman Ward Three. David W. Rose is running unopposed for Alderman Ward Four.

The Morrison Community Unit School District Six has an unexpired two-year term on the board of education up for election with no current candidate. The district also has three open full four-year terms on the board of education. Douglas Pannier is running in the Township 21N Range 5E and Erik Carlson is running in the Township 22N Range 6E.
