CLINTON — The Clinton County Bar Association will celebrate the 15th anniversary of Law Day today. In conjunction with the celebration, the Bar Assoc-iation will present the annual Liberty Bell Award to this year’s recipient, Alan Green.
The theme for this year’s Law Day is “to explore the meaning of the rule of law, fostering public understanding of the rule of law through discussion of its role in a free society.” Green was selected as this year’s Liberty Bell Award winner for his role in “fostering public understanding of the rule of law.” Green is director of Seniors vs. Crime, which operates in conjunction with the Clinton County Sheriff’s Department. He publishes weekly news articles, speaks on radio shows, and engages in public speaking in an effort to educate area seniors on matters of crime and the law.
He has expanded his services to the sheriff’s office in DeWitt in an effort to better assist seniors who live in rural areas of the county. He recently assisted the Clinton County Attorney’s Office in investigating and apprehending an individual who was actively involved in a money scam involving area seniors.
