Two airlifted after Whiteside County crash

PROPHETSTOWN, Ill. — Whiteside County deputies are investigating a two-vehicle accident that occurred Wednesday afternoon in rural Prophetstown.
The accident occurred at the intersection of Perkins and Mill roads at 2:10 p.m. A vehicle driven by Lillian Snyder, 60, of Erie, Ill., was traveling north on Perkins Road. The second vehicle, driven by Kathleen Wilson, 40, of Tampico, Ill., was westbound on Mill Road when the two vehicles collided at the intersection, reports state.
Snyder, Wilson and a 9-year-old passenger in the Wilson vehicle were transported to CGH Medical Center by Prophetstown Ambulance. Snyder was later airlifted to St. Anthony Hospital in Rockford, Ill., and the 9-year-old was airlifted to Rockford Memorial. Snyder is in serious condition, hospital officials said. The 9-year-old’s name and condition were not released.
Prophetstown Fire Department and Tampico Ambulance assisted at the scene. The accident remains under investigation.
