One dead in U.S. 30 crash

— MORRISON, Ill. — Whiteside County sheriff’s deputies responded to a fatal crash on U.S. 30 at Hillside Road, west of Morrison at 5:25 a.m. Sunday.
According to a press release, Aaron W. McGrath, 19, of Morrison, was initially traveling west on U.S. 30 when the vehicle veered off the roadway into the south ditch.
After traveling some distance in the ditch, the vehicle struck a driveway access point and became airborne. The vehicle came to rest on its top.
McGrath was pronounced dead at the scene by Whiteside County Coroner Joe McDonald.
The crash remains under investigation.
