MORRISON, Ill. — A pedestrian was struck and killed today around 3:30 a.m. by an eastbound Union Pacific train near the Genesee Street intersection in Morrison.
The unidentified pedestrian was walking east on the north side of the railroad tracks when he was struck.
He was declared dead at the scene by Whiteside County Coroner Joe McDonald. McDonald and police are currently attempting to learn the identity of the victim. He is described as a white male, approximately 65 years old, with balding gray hair. The victim was wearing dentures, a dark gray baseball cap and gray sweat pants.
