‘Dreamcoat’ makes way to Showboat stage
CLINTON — The show “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” will make its way to the Clinton Area Showboat Theatre stage starting Thursday through Aug. 16. The biblical story of Joseph’s path from zero to hero is reinvented on the stage under the direction of Patrick Stinson, producing artistic director.
Joseph features many styles of music, and in this revival many television shows are parodied as well. From Captain Kirk to Gilligan, shows are brought to the stage to aid in the telling of this Broadway classic.
The cast features showboat regulars from the summer and some new faces as well — Joshua Sohn (Joseph), Nicole Horton (Narrator), Dale Hawes (Jacob/Potiphar), Alex Fenzel (Reuben/Baker), Drew Simendinger (Simeon/Butler), James Alt (Naphtali), John Barger (Dan), Justin Tegeler (Zebulon), Cole Rauch (Gad), Ian Black (Benjamin), Taylor Wiebers (Reuben’s wife), Marisa Matzen (Simeon’s wife), Haley Courter (Levi’s wife), Megan Collins (Naphtali’s wife), Sandee Cunningham (Dan’s wife), Simone Renault (Benjamin’s wife), Laurel Decker (Issachar’s wife), Julia Mitchell (Judah’s wife), Claire Barnhart (Potiphar’s wife), Stinson (Pharaoh) and a children’s chorus starring Anna Marie Black, Helena Fisher, Hailey Hughes, Adam Luckritz, Aedan Marlowe, Maddie Marlowe, Skyler Pennock, Sydney Schreiber, Noah Strausser, Kate Struble and Allison Winkel.
Tickets are available for all performances, with 7:30 p.m. shows on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, and 3 p.m. shows on Sundays and Wednesdays. Due to demand, an additional performance has been scheduled for 3 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 15.
