The investigation by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department revealed that at 6:07 p.m., Penny Hurlburt, 46, of Camanche, was driving a 2005 Hyosung motorcycle on 150th Street, one mile east of Canton, when a deer came out of the south ditch. Hurlburt’s motorcycle then struck the deer. A 2002 Honda, driven by Dale Hardison, 59, of Delmar, was following behind Hurlburt and struck her motorcycle.

Once there, they were both transported by helicopter to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. No information was available on their conditions today.
