CLINTON — Monday night’s storms have caused some damage and left some residents without power.
The Quad-City branch of the National Weather Service issued a tornado warning for the area from 5:54 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. The branch issued the warning due to radar readings that showed possible movement approximately eight miles west of Andover. The formation appeared to be moving east at 33 miles per hour. However, no visual confirmations of a tornado have been reported.
The storms in the community did cause some minor damage. Chance Kness, Clinton County Emergency Management coordinator, said he received reports of downed trees and one transformer that blew out. The Whiteside County Sheriff’s Office and the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office also had reports of fallen trees, downed wires and power outages.
