CLINTON — October is “Disability Awareness Month” at Ashford University and to celebrate, the Quad City Rough Riders will join Ashford staff, faculty and students for a wheelchair basketball game at 7 p.m. today in the Durgin Educational Center’s Kehl Arena.
The public is invited to the event and admission is free.
Ashford University lead disability services coordinator, Poppy Fitch, said, “I’m excited about this high-energy event, which will increase awareness and appreciation of the unique contributions and abilities of all people.”
The Rough Riders have been an organization since 1972 and currently have a 10-person roster and play 10 to 15 games each year. The team’s season starts in October and ends in February.
