H1N1 clinics start Tuesday

Vaccinations will be given Tuesday and Thursday at VNA’s clinics

CLINTON — The Genesis VNA will hold two clinics this week for the H1N1 virus vaccinations.

The VNA will host the first clinic Tuesday from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Clinton Community College, 1000 Lincoln Blvd., and the second on Thursday at First Congregational United Church of Christ, 520 E. 11th St. in DeWitt.

The vaccinations and attenuated nasal mist will only be given to members of specific target groups.

People eligible for the vaccine include pregnant women, children from six months to 2 years old, and children and young adults from six months to 24 years old who have medical conditions that put them at a higher risk of contracting the virus.

Those eligible for the attenuated nasal mist are people who live with or provide care for children less than six months old, health care workers and dental workers, preschool providers, and children from 2 to 4 years old.

Because of a limited supply, no walk-ins will be accepted. Appointments can be made by calling the VNA at 244-4929.
