Plans are announced for Fulton’s Christmas Walk

FULTON, Ill. — Fulton’s hometown Christmas Walk, “Silver Skates and Silver Bells,” will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Dec. 5 in downtown Fulton.
Several family-fun events are planned, including free children’s crafts and wagon rides. Many businesses will be open in downtown Fulton offering refreshments, holiday cheer, shopping and entertainment.
Additional entertainment in the downtown area will include a live Nativity scene, puppet shows, roasted chestnuts and music by the River Bend Christmas Ensemble and Riverside Brass; Santa Claus and the Grinch will be present at the Masonic Lodge.
The Wa-Tan-Ye Club will be selling barbecue sandwiches and homemade candy, and the local 4-H Club will be sponsoring a bake sale, with proceeds benefiting the Fulton Food Pantry.
The fourth annual 2-mile run/walk will start at 6:30 p.m., with registration at Manny’s Too beginning at 5:30 p.m.
On Saturday, the Fulton Fire Department is sponsoring breakfast with Santa at the new fire station, from 7 to 10 a.m. Heritage Canyon will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and an illuminated walk from 6 to 8 p.m. with the Early American Crafters. • Free wagon rides — drop off and pick up at the former fire station;
• Wa-Tan-Ye Club’s barbecue sandwiches and bake sale at the Fulton Township building;
• 4-H Club’s bake sale at Paradise Pools — proceeds to benefit Fulton Food Pantry;
• Riverside Brass Quartet, 5 to 6 p.m.;

• Book signing with Gary Metivier, author of “Willie’s Wagon Adventure: A Hog Ate My Homework,” at the Masonic Lodge; and

Saturday, Dec. 6
• Breakfast with Santa at the new Fulton fire station, 7 to 10 a.m.; donations appreciated;
• Christmas at Heritage Canyon, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.;
• Illuminated walk at Heritage Canyon, 6 to 8 p.m., free; and
• Windmill gift shop open, 10 a.m. to noon.
