Absentee ballots are available

CLINTON — Absentee ballots for the special school election to be held Dec. 2 are now available at the Clinton County Auditor’s office. Registered voters who will not be able to vote at the precinct may request and vote an absentee ballot in person at the auditor’s office, Clinton County Administration Building, 1900 N. Third St. Individuals may call the office at 244-0568 for an official form or print from the Web site, www.clintoncountyiowa.com/auditor. The request must be signed by the person requesting the ballot and mailed to the Clinton County Auditor, Box 2957, Clinton, IA 52733-2957. A ballot will be mailed within 24 hours of receipt of the request. Voters are responsible for returning ballots to the auditor’s office before the polls close at 8 p.m. Dec. 2.
The last day to request a absentee ballot is Nov. 26. Those voting in person may come to the auditor’s office between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday through Monday, Dec. 1. A voter may not pick up a ballot at the office and take it with them. Ballots must be mailed to voters or voted in the office.
