CLINTON — Local musician, Dan Peart, will hold a CD release party for his new studio release, “Truth Be Told,” on Friday.
“Truth Be Told,” features 14 original songs by Peart. One featured song, “Mississippi Mud,” has scenes of growing up in a river city, swimming, ice skating, canoeing, rope swinging and inner tubing. The CD artwork is a panoramic view of the Mississippi River bridges and islands from the scenic Riverfront at Clinton.
“It’s about the songs, writing lyrics I care to sing, and evolving as a musician,” stated Peart in a press release, adding “I’ve been playing bass, keyboards, and guitars in several dance bands over the years, even touring coast-to-coast. I could perform the songs on this CD in your living room, without electricity, or on stages anywhere.”
Most of “Truth Be Told” was recorded by Kirk Kaufman at Junior’s Motel studio near Fort Dodge. Peart stated the CD turned out better than he had expected.
“I’ve put my heart and soul in every lyrical syllable and musical phrase,” stated Peart.
Peart stated he would like to thank his friends and family for their continued support of his music over the years. The release party will be at Timeout Sports Bar and Grill, 1815 Manufacturing Drive. For more information, visit Peart’s Web site at http://www.myspace.com/1danpeart.
