Herald Staff Report
A plea hearing is set for Wednesday for a Clinton man facing a first-degree murder charge.
Andy Cole is to appear in court at 11 a.m. with his lawyer, Thomas Goodman from Dubuque.
Cole is accused of murdering 27-year-old Alysia Marburger in 2008 while committing sexual abuse. Her partially clothed body was found Oct. 24, 2008, lying in a ditch near the Rock Creek cabin area off US 67. The medical examiner ruled the cause of death as undetermined, but found the circumstances highly suspicious of foul play.
Cole was arrested in July 2012. He previously pleaded not guilty to the charge. His trial is set for 9 a.m. July 29, with a final pretrial conference at 1:30 p.m. June 27.
