Clinton police on Thursday arrested two men in connection with the armed robbery that took place at Wild Rose Casino and Resort earlier this week.
At 5:56 p.m. Thursday, Dylon Michael-Joseph White, 18, who is homeless, and Destin Robert Clark, 18, of Neenah, Wis., were arrested in the 2900 block of U.S. 67 in Folletts.
The men were arrested on warrants for robbery in the first degree. Police also found a loaded handgun on Clark during the arrest and charged him with possession of a firearm as a felon and on a warrant from Wisconsin, police say.
Around 8:40 p.m. Tuesday, police were dispatched to the Wild Rose Casino, 2501 South Mill Creek Parkway, for a reported robbery.
Police said a 36-year-old Illinois man was approached by two white males in the area of the Clinton Lawn Cemetery and taken at gunpoint into the casino’s lobby. They said the victim was forced to withdraw money out of his account from the ATM.
The victim was not injured, police said.
The suspects fled the area on foot from the casino entrance with an undetermined amount of money.
The investigation led members of the Clinton Police Department, Clinton County Sheriff’s Office, the Gateway Area Hazardous Entry Approach Team, Camanche Police Department, Iowa State Patrol, Clinton County Conservation Office and the Iowa DNR to the area where the suspects were arrested.
