CLINTON — Money previously earmarked to a Clinton County software upgrade will be used to purchase new laptops and improve connectivity for 14 county patrol squad cars.
Information Technology Director Betsy Smith told the Clinton County Board of Supervisors that $165,000 budgeted for a tax and financial software update will not be used this budget year. She indicated that the software will now be a part of the 2016 fiscal year budget.
The board agreed that $119,726.30 of these funds will instead be used for the purchase of new laptops for county squad cars and the InMotion software. InMotion manages the connectivity through the car, running the radio and the wifi. The county had planned to purchase InMotion at a later date, but agreed that with the extra money in the IT budget, this would be the ideal time to do it.
