Dolton, Ill., man jailed on enticing a minor

CLINTON — A Dolton, Ill., man accused of enticing a minor is being held in the Clinton County Jail on a $15,000 cash bond

The Clinton County Sheriff’s Office arrested Francisco A. Gonzales, 39, Tuesday at a location near the 2600 block of North Fourth Street. According to court documents, the defendant traveled to Clinton on Tuesday to meet a person he reasonably believed was between 14 and 15 years old.

The affidavit continues that between February 2013 and March 2014, Gonzales communicated with a person he thought was 14 and then 15 years old, using Teen Video Chat, Yahoo Instant Messenger, Facebook and a cellphone. During these communications, he allegedly discussed meeting her in Clinton, away from her home, for the purpose of engaging in sex acts.

Enticing a minor is a class D felony, which carries no more than five years in prison and a fine of between $750 and $7,500. Gonzales’ preliminary hearing is set for 8:20 a.m. March 21.
