According to court documents, police were called to the defendant’s apartment at 11:21 p.m. Feb. 8 for a possible assault and heard a female screaming and a male voice yelling “now you’re going to get it.” Officers pushed in the door and located Robinson wearing pants and no shirt, standing in the front room of the apartment. The affidavit continues that police found the female victim near the front door, barefoot, wearing pants, a torn bra and a coat.
The victim explained she was running to get out of the apartment and get help when police arrived, according to the affidavit. According to court documents, the defendant and the victim had been in a relationship for more than four years, living together.
According to the affidavit, the victim went to Robinson’s friend’s apartment, 2604 N. Fourth St., apartment 1901, to get the keys for their apartment from the defendant. She told police Robinson struck her in the face, according to court documents.
The couple continued to argue after they went back to their apartment and the victim tried to get her belongings together and clean the apartment, when the defendant threw bleach over her suitcase and clothing. He then threw all-purpose cleaner in her face, according to the affidavit. Robinson proceeded to strike her multiple times, threw her up against the apartment walls and held her down, placed his hands around her neck and restricted her breathing, according to court documents.
