Armory Auction a success

CLINTON — There were 60 tables of everything under the sun sold at the Sept. 21 auction at the National Guard Armory in Clinton.

An antique baseball game swung away to a $100 bid. Carnival glass bowls brought in $27.50 each, a box of church key beer openers sold at $32.50 and some older cameras snapped a picture for $25. A Schwinn bike rode away with a $65 bid and the Ross bike pedaled to $70. A nice couch brought only $10 and the rocker recliner went out at $42.50. Patio furniture saw a $45 bid and the plastic storage cabinet also sold for $45. A trooper cap gun sold for $20 and a box lot of comic books sold at $13 per box and the bidder took all 12 boxes.

The railroad lanterns sold for $115 each, the race track set drove away with a $45 bid and a 15 gallon crock went to the high bid of $80. The Old Milwaukee sign topped out at $80 and a large table went to $40. Two lightning rods with globes sold for $50, a Fender amp played loud to $85, Franklin half dollars sold for an even $100 and eight Walking Liberty half dollars went to $97.50.

A man’s sterling ring sold for $15, an old powder horn filled up a $25 bid and the onion skin marble was a great buy at $55. A large Delft plate held for a $45 bid and two boxes of collectible cars sold for $210. The auction started at 10 a.m. and concluded at 1:30 p.m. Don’t miss the large coin and collectible toy car auction, which starts at 10 a.m. today at the Armory on 13th Avenue North.

A complete household of furniture and fancy glassware also will be featured. Half of the auction will be a sit-down auction.
