Camanche board passes budget

CAMANCHE — A public hearing on the Camanche School District’s budget for next year lasted only one minute Monday.

No members of the public attended the meeting.

“It’s a quick meeting, but it’s probably one of the most important votes you take all year,” Superintendant Tom Parker said to the board of education.

Following the closing of the hearing, the board approved the published budget, featuring a levy rate of $15.06 per $1,000 taxable valuation.

Parker reminded the board that this is a 62-cent decrease in the tax levy rate.

“So I would suspect most of you would be in favor of that,” Parker said.
