Thefts from farms investigated

MOUNT CARROLL, Ill. — Carroll County Crime Stoppers is asking for help to solve two recent burglaries being investigated by the Carroll County Sheriff's Department.

A caller could receive a reward of as much as $1,000 for information leading to an arrest. The identity of the caller would be kept confidential.

According to a press release, the first burglary occurred at a farm on Ashby Road where unknown subjects entered the property and buildings and took numerous items. These items include two fire hydrants, red wheel weights, ground rods and an air compressor. Some of the items were later recovered at a local scrap yard.

Another burglary occurred on Argo Fay Road in rural Thomson, Ill. According to the press release, unknown subjects forced entry into a farm building and took a 4-foot oval water tank, a gray Porter air compressor with a five horse power motor and a metal irrigation wheel. It is believed this burglary took place sometime overnight on April 7.
