CLINTON — United Way of Clinton County, Iowa held the third Fall 2013 Campaign Report Meeting on Nov. 21 at Clinton City Hall.
The city of Clinton presented the employee contributions, which totaled $3,500. Jessica Kinser, Clinton’s city administrator, said, “the city is pleased to be associated with United Way as both a partner agency and as contributors through our community-conscientious employees, and we are proud to be part of the 2013 campaign.”
She challenged the city departments to increase their giving and the number of givers by talking about starting small and making progress each year by increasing employee contributions.
Josh Mitchell, City of Clinton Recreation Department, talked about the how the funding that the city’s recreation department receives from United Way helps to support program fees for low- income children.
In return, the Clinton Fire Department exceeded its goal, as did other city departments.
United Way of Clinton County, Iowa would like to thank all employees for their generous contributions. The overall campaign reported 69.2 percent of goal. The final Fall 2013 Campaign Report Meeting will be 7:30 a.m. Dec. 12 at Camanche Middle School. The event is open to the public. The Shell Station on Second Avenue South in Clinton is offering 5 cents off each gallon of gas to patrons who visit the specified Shell Station on Thursday if they are wearing the United Way sticker received at the report meeting.
