Clinton Regional Development Corp. President and CEO Mike Kirchhoff told the Clinton County Development Association board last week that it made a good investment with its contribution to the Lincoln Way Rail and Air Park project.
As part of the CCDA’s contribution, the CRDC presents a yearly update on the project.
Kirchhoff highlighted the recent successes with the purchase of land by RAIL.ONE, from Germany, and Nevada Railroad Materials, Inc., out of Utah. RAIL.ONE will occupy 25 acres and NRM another 20 to 25 acres of the more than 500-acre park.
The CEO from RAIL.ONE traveled from Germany to visit Clinton on Wednesday and Thursday. In May, CRDC members will visit the RAIL.ONE location in Germany.
Kirchhoff also told the CCDA that the CRDC is currently working with a company, which blends chemicals related to cosmetics, that is considering the railport. This company could bring in approximately 50 jobs to the area.
He declined naming the company at this time.
A ribbon cutting for RAIL.ONE is planned for April 29.
