MAQUOKETA — The Copa Crew Big Band Holiday Show will be Saturday, Nov. 30, beginning at 7 p.m. at Ohnward Fine Arts Center.

Fast-paced holiday humor frames the Great American Songbook all backed by the Copa Crew Big Band sound. This versatile group has been entertaining Midwestern audiences since 1993 and this holiday show is one of its best.

You will be able to swing to the music of Irving Berlin, Johnny Mercer, George Gershwin and more. Enjoy holiday classics such as White Christmas and Christmas Time is Here as the Copa Crew takes you Home for the Holidays.

The Copa Crew is a composite of highly experienced jazz performers. The Jack Farina Big Band forms its core. The Jack Farina Big Band was formed in 1968 with its first appearance at the Viking Hall in the famed Wagon Wheel Resort. The band has appeared in Milwaukee, Madison, Chicago and throughout the Midwest. The band performs swinging ballroom, standards, and Latin. They play hits made famous by Glenn Miller, Benny Goodman, Harry James, Count Bassie, Tony Scodwell, and Artie Shaw, among others.

Fourteen of the Midwest’s finest jazz musicians combine their talents to provide the swinging holiday sounds. The acclaimed saxophone section takes you back to the days of Glenn Miller, while an experienced and synchronized brass section balances out the sound. Charlie Imbert, the producer and emcee, is a veteran of nightclubs and cabarets. This includes eight years in Las Vegas. He brings a wry wit to the show. The show is rounded out by a dynamic group of young singers who add vitality and energy to what will turn out to be an uplifting evening of entertainment.

Tickets are $22 for adults and $25 at the door. Student tickets are $13 in advance and $15 at the door.

The show runs approximately two hours. Beer and wine will be available
