CAMANCHE — One individual was airlifted to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, in Iowa City, following an early morning accident today in Camanche.
According to a press release from the Camanche Fire Department, emergency personnel found an individual with multiple traumatic injuries after responding to the scene of a one-vehicle accident occurring at 12:06 a.m. at Ninth Street and 37th Avenue in Camanche. The name of the person had not been released at press time. The press release indicates he or she did not appear to wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.
U.S. 67 was shut down for approximately one hour and the fire department was on the scene for approximately 1 1/2 hours. Assisting at the scene were MedForce Helicopter, Camanche Police Department, Clinton Police Department, Clinton County Sheriff’s Office, Iowa State Patrol and Iowa Department of Transportation.
