Salary increases approved for county officials

CLINTON — While union negotiations will begin soon for new contracts, Clinton County is approving salary increases based on the last year of a three-year contract with county employees.

The Clinton County Board of Supervisors met Monday morning and approved seven resolutions connected with salary increases for county employees, varying between 2 and 2 1/2 percent, depending on department. Negotiations on union contracts will most likely begin in July.

The increases included salaries for sheriff’s office staff, deputies and correctional officers, as well as bailiffs and other sheriff’s office personnel. The board also approved salaries for administrative personnel, including employees attorney’s, auditor’s, recorder’s and treasurer’s offices, as well as the budget director and GIS technician. Salaries for communications, non union and union secondary road and general service union employees also were approved.
