Fulton man dies in bike accident

FULTON, Ill. — A Fulton man died Thursday after a motorcycle accident in rural Fulton.

Logan K. Williamson, 20, died at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City as a result of his injuries.

The Whiteside County Sheriif’s Office responded to a single-vehicle accident at 3:10 a.m. Thursday at 17485 Chase Road, in rural Fulton.

According to a release, deputies located a wrecked motorcycle, driven Williamson.

Williamson was transported by a personal vehicle to Mercy Medical Center North prior to deputies arriving on scene.

An investigation determined Williamson was southbound on Chase Road, approximately a quarter of a mile north of 17485 Chase Road. The motorcycle was laid down and skidded a considerable distance before Williamson was ejected.

Fulton police assisted at the scene. The situation remains under investigation.

  • Fire alarm evacuation at Eagle Heights

    Students of Eagle Heights Elementary School were evacuated Thursday afternoon after staff smelled something being emitted in the first-grade hallway and main office areas.

    According to a press release from the Clinton Community School District, staff noticed the smell at approximately 1:10 p.m. It was then determined the fire department should be notified, and the fire alarm was pulled.
