---- — CLINTON — A Clinton man already facing multiple felony charges for allegedly sexually abusing a child is now facing six more felonies for sexual exploitation of a child.
Tony D. James, 45, was charged this past weekend with six counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, a class C felony. He was previously charged at the end of February with two counts of second-degree sexual abuse, a class B felony, and eight counts of third-degree sexual abuse, a class C felony. He is currently being held in the Clinton County jail on a $50,000 cash-only bond.
According to court documents, a 15-year-old female reported on April 14, 2013, that James had been sexually abusing her since late 2008, when she was 11. Court documents continue that the defendant allegedly committed approximately 100 sex acts with the victim at his residence at 1612 Iowa Ave. The last incident occurred on April 12, 2013, according to the affidavit.
The recent sexual exploitation charges came from an April 14, 2013, search warrant of James’ home, where a computer was taken by officers with the defendant’s permission. According to court documents, a forensic exam on the computer found six separate computer files with videos of the defendant and the alleged victim engaging in sexual activities. The affidavit continues that the victim was unaware that the defendant was recording these activities.
A class B felony carries as much as 25 years in prison. Class C felonies can carry as much as 10 years in prison.
