School election absentee voting begins

---- — CLINTON – Clinton County Auditor Eric Van Lancker has announced that absentee ballots for the Sept. 10 school elections are available in the Clinton County Auditor’s Office starting Tuesday, Aug. 20.

Absentee ballots may be cast in the Clinton County Auditor’s Office at the Clinton County Administration Building, 1900 N. Third St., Clinton, during regular office hours from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, through Sept. 9. Absentee ballots are available for the following school elections: Calamus-Wheatland, Camanche, Central Clinton, Clinton, Delwood and Northeast.

Absentee ballots must be requested in writing. Request forms are available at the Auditor’s Office, on the Clinton County Web site at www.clintoncounty-ia.gov and at the Iowa Secretary of State’s Web site at www.sos.state.ia.us. Ballots requested through the mail must be returned and postmarked by midnight, Sept. 9. Ballots may also be hand-delivered to the Auditor’s Office before 8 p.m. Sept. 10.

All requests for ballots to be mailed must be received by the Auditor’s Office by 5 p.m. Sept. 6. For more information, contact the Clinton County Auditor’s office at 244-0568.
