CLINTON — Jail staff have confirmed that Ryan K. Blume, 25, 215 16th Place, turned himself in this morning shortly after 6 a.m. and was being held on a $2,000 bond. His first court appearance was set for 9 a.m.
Eight citations were filed and an arrest warrant was issued against Blume last week in connection with the attack on Benjamin Nave, 31, 716 S. Sixth St.
The charges filed against Blume include having a dangerous dog, allowing a dog to run at large, no proof of rabies vaccination and no proof of city license.
He faces fines and possible jail time if convicted.
Nave was attacked in the 200 block of 16th Place as he walked from a friend's house to Hy-Vee. He required several surgeries on both of his arms before he was released from University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.
