Fair queens to be selected July 18


Jessica HaringJessica Haring is the 18-year-old daughter of Chris and Anne Haring. Jessica is a six-year 4-H member and has been vice president and secretary in her club. She was also a member of the FCCLA. With that she has served two years as chapter secretary and one year as president. Jessica is a member of the Venture Crew 77 where she went on camping and other adventure trips and participated in many service activities around the community. Jessica has also volunteered for many other things around the community such as the Eastern Iowa Threshers Association, Frances Banta Waggoner Community Library, Grand Mound Community Club and a World Gospel Outreach Honduras Mission trip. Jessica plans to attend Scott Community College in the fall to study business and hospitality management and go on to receive a degree in hospitality management or dietetics from Iowa State University or the University of Wisconsin.

Sarah KinradeSarah Kinrade is the 18-year-old daughter of Steve and Julie Kinrade. Throughout high school, Sarah was very involved in marching band, concert band, soccer, volleyball, FFA and National Honor Society. She is a nine-year member of the Delmar Hot Shots 4-H club and has served as secretary and president. Sarah has been a member of St. Patrick’s youth group in Delmar for four years, and is a 4-H County Council member and an eighth-grade volleyball coach. Sarah will be attending Iowa State University in the fall to major in animal science. She plans to receive her bachelor’s degree in animal science and her Master’s Degree in business in five years. With these degrees, Sarah plans to pursue a career as a pharmaceutical sales representative.

Amber MeyerAmber Meyer is the 16-year-old daughter of Kevin and Tina Meyer. She was a varsity football and wrestling cheerleader, on the varsity dance team, DeWitt Central FFA chapter secretary, cheer leadership council representative, member of the color guard and a member of the school concert band. Amber is currently secretary of Clinton County 4-H Council, treasurer of Equine Fever 4-H Club and a member of the Equine Fever drill team. Amber plans to continue her primary focus on school and her extracurricular activities. After high school she wishes to pursue a degree in either the agricultural or medical field.
