Branstad to attend Clinton rally

CLINTON — Iowa Gov. Terry Branstad will be in Clinton this Saturday for a get out the vote rally in support of the Republican action plan and Republican State Senate candidate Andrew Naeve.

The rally will be held at 392°Caffé, 216 S. Second St., from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.

The governor will attend from 10:45 to 11:15 a.m. to rally voters to choose Naeve and promote the Iowa Strong action plan for a durable and prosperous Iowa through strong schools and communities.

Naeve, who is running against Democrat Rita Hart to be the first to hold the state senate seat in newly created District 49, will speak briefly at the rally.

“We’re really excited to have the governor come out,” Naeve said. “We hope this will encourage people to get out and vote in the last few days of the campaign.”

Gov. Branstad’s communications director Tom Albrecht said the governor chose to host the rally because he will be working directly with Naeve should he be elected.

“The governor is a big supporter of Andrew Naeve and believes we need him in the Iowa Senate to be a job creator,” Albrecht said.

The event is free and open to the public.
