Police looking for suspects in hit-and-run

CLINTON — Clinton Police officers are searching for assistance regarding a hit-and-run collision to two Clinton police cars.

Clinton Police officers were dispatched to the 500 block of 10th Avenue South at 7:44 p.m. Tuesday. Officers parked their two marked squad cars facing west on 10th Avenue South.

After parking their vehicles, a vehicle was traveling east in the 500 block of 10th Avenue South at a high rate of speed. The vehicle crossed into the opposite lane of travel, struck both patrol cars and caused considerable damage.

The suspect's vehicle fled the scene northbound on South Fifth Street from 10th Avenue South.

Officers are asking for assistance in locating the suspect's vehicle described as a full-sized pickup truck, dark in color, possibly red or maroon, with a crew cab and a full-sized toolbox in the bed of the truck.

Evidence left at the scene from the vehicle indicated a 1999 to 2002 GM product.
