Clinton police searching for robbery suspects

CLINTON — Clinton police are seeking the public's help as they conduct an investigation into a Tuesday night robbery in which a man was forced at gunpoint to retrieve money from an automatic-teller machine at Clinton's casino.

Police were dispatched around 8:40 p.m. to the Wild Rose Casino, 2501 South Mill Creek Parkway, for a reported robbery.

Police said a 36-year-old Illinois man was approached by two white males in the area of the Clinton Lawn Cemetery and taken at gunpoint into the casino's lobby. They said the victim was forced to withdraw money out of his account from the ATM.

The suspects fled the area on foot from the casino entrance with an undetermined amount of money.

The victim was not injured, police said.

The suspects are being described as white males, one with dark hair wearing a baseball cap and another with dark, curly hair. Both are described as being about 18 years old.

The incident is under investigation by Clinton police and the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation.

Anyone who has information about the investigation is asked to call the Clinton Police Department at 243-1457 or Clinton County CrimeStoppers at 1-888-883-8015.
