Clinton woman sentenced on meth charges

CLINTON — A Camanche woman involved in a local methamphetamine lab could serve as much as 10 years in prison.

A Clinton County District Court judge ordered Kimberly Lane, 33, 620 Third Ave., Camanche, to serve up to 10 years in prison after she pleaded guilty to conspiracy to manufacture meth. She also pleaded guilty to child endangerment and was ordered to serve up to five years in prison. The sentences will be served concurrently.

Lane was arrested in May after Camanche and Clinton police conducted a search on the home of her father, Charles McKenrick. She was living in the home, along with her boyfriend, Nathan T. Green, and her 11-year-old son. According to police affidavits, Camanche police began investigating Green and Lane in January, with the investigating officer observing suspicious pseudophedrine purchases.

According to court documents, the search revealed items consistent with the manufacture of meth. Charges of conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine in excess of 10 grams, possession of meth precursors and child endangerment were filed against Lane, Green, McKenrick, David P. Shamp and Seth A. Green. Tonya M. Palmer was charged with conspiracy to manufacture meth and possession of meth precursors in late June in connection with the May bust.

Lane also was fined $1,000 and $750, with the fines suspended. A charge of possession of meth precursors was dismissed.

Green pleaded guilty to manufacturing meth and child endangerment on Aug. 8. He could serve as much as 15 years in prison. His sentencing is set for 9 a.m. Sept. 5.

McKenrick pleaded guilty to possession of meth precursors and child endangerment and was sentenced to no more than five years in prison for each. Shamp pleaded guilty to possession of meth precursors and was given a suspended prison sentence and two years of probation.
