Deputies seek assistance in solving two burglaries

---- — SAVANNA, Ill. — Carroll County CrimeStoppers is asking for help in the investigation of two recent residential burglaries.

The Carroll County Sheriff’s Department is investigating two burglaries, which occurred Saturday, with the first occurring between 10 a.m. and 7:30 p.m., on Illinois 84, north of Savanna. According to a press release, the homeowner was not at home when subjects forcibly broke into the residence.

A large safe containing U.S. currency and other personal documents was taken. Total damage, including the stolen property, was more than $1,000.

Between 3 and 11 p.m., a second burglary occurred on Colony Court in rural Thomson, Ill., just off Illinois 84. Subjects forced entry into the residence through a window and jewelry was taken. The homeowners were not home and the total damage was greater than $7,000.
