---- — CLINTON — Employees of Colony Brands, DM Services, and SC Contact Center in Clinton can now receive primary health care services free thanks to an in-house Colony Brands Health & Wellness Center located on S. 21st St. Colony Brands, which is headquartered in Monroe, Wis., has three affiliated facilities in Clinton – a fulfillment center on Harrison Drive, a call center on South 21st Street, and DM Services — a credit management service also on South 21st Street. Colony Brands is a direct marketing firm that started in 1926 with its flagship brand The Swiss Colony, and expanded into numerous general merchandise catalogs such as Seventh Avenue, Ginny’s and Midnight Velvet.

The Clinton Health and Wellness Center is modeled after a similar service that has been operating in Monroe since June 2012. Based on the success of the Monroe Health and Wellness Center, the decision was made to expand to serve the Clinton employees. The Clinton center is being staffed by nurse practitioner Kellie Ruba, who is an employee of the Monroe Clinic. Services offered at the Health & Wellness Center include preventive care, health risk assessments, health coaching and physical exams, including sports and school physicals. The center also offers limited immunizations and labs, along with prescription medication management.

All 1,000 Clinton-area active employees are eligible for this free service. Employees’ dependents are also eligible for the service as long as they are covered by the company’s medical plan.

The focus of the Wellness Center is not on acute illnesses, but on keeping patients educated on how to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Eligible employees will be allowed to seek treatment during their scheduled work time, without affecting their attendance record.

According to Joe Hunter, vice president of human resources, “We are excited to be opening the doors to better health for our employees in the Clinton area. We hope that this will be a benefit that is truly valued by all of our employees and sought out by potential applicants looking for employment opportunities in the future.”
