CAMANCHE — The Camanche Volunteer Fire Department will host its 45th annual open house Oct. 12.
The open house will be held at the fire department’s Central Station located at 720 Ninth Ave. The open house will be from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. and the public is invited.
There will be fire hats for the kids, temporary tattoos, door prizes and refreshments.
In addition there will be fire truck rides, the MedForce Helicopter, fire safety house demonstrations, Alliant Energy demonstration, Red Cross, Emergency Management, Stop Drop and Roll, carbon monoxide safety and education material.
Members from the Emergency K-9 Operations, Search and Rescue group will be on hand with their dogs to answer questions. The Clinton County Sheriff’s Department/DARE program will be available to do IDs for kids.
Camanche Kiwanis will have a car seat check up station.
There will also be displays of fire department equipment, fire department history, fire department toys and the fire department’s patch collection (which is one of the largest in the state).
