Rebels go 2-1 on busy day

GOOSE LAKE — The Northeast softball team played three games on Tuesday, finishing 2-1. The Rebels swept Davenport Central in a doubleheader, 7-4 and 8-3, during the day, before losing a 6-2 decision to Bellevue at night.
Pitcher Audrey Moehr earned a win and a no-decision in her two starts. Catcher Danika Loots highlighted Northeast’s Game 2 victory with a home run and two RBIs.
Caley Medinger and Alyx Michels each had two hits for Bellevue. Medinger also earned the win in the circle after allowing two runs on eight hits. Sammi Farrell, Paige Seeser and Loots each had two hits in Northeast’s final game of the day.

Sabers sweep Western Dubuque
FARLEY — The Central DeWitt baseball team improved to 19-8 this season with a sweep Tuesday in a doubleheader with Class 3A No. 10-ranked Western Dubuque. Central DeWitt won the first game 6-3 and the night cap 14-4 in five innings.
Ryan Cady had three hits and two RBIs to lead the Sabers in Game 1. He smashed a home run to highlight Central DeWitt’s attack in Game 2.
