CLINTON — Two felony charges filed last month against a Clinton man have been dismissed.
Assistant Attorney Amanda Myers on Feb. 7 filed a motion to dismiss charges of felony escape from custody and second-degree theft, both Class D felonies, against Scott A. Plots, 22, 2715 N. Third St. The State requested a dismissal without prejudice.
“After reviewing the reports, the State has insufficient evidence to proceed with charges at this time,” Myers stated in the motion to dismiss.
Clinton County District Court Judge Nancy Tabor granted the State’s motion and dismissed the charges without prejudice. Costs were assessed to the State. Tabor ordered Plots to be released from custody.
