CLINTON — Two Clinton men are being held in the Clinton County Jail, accused of manufacturing methamphetamine, following the execution of a search warrant Wednesday.
Scott J. Maydew, 53, is being held on a $150,000 cash bond and Albert D. Hansen, 47, is being held on a $100,000 cash bond after being arrested Wednesday in the 500 block of Fourth Avenue in Camanche. Both of their preliminary hearings are set for 8:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 29.
According to a press release, Camanche police responded shortly after midnight to a report of suspicious activity in the 500 block of Fourth Avenue. Officers seized several items consistent with a one-pot meth lab, including table salt and an HCL generator. The search also revealed a one-pot lab, two containers with a white residue that tested positive for meth and coffee filters with a white residue.
Maydew is facing a manufacturing meth charge from a June arrest at 1716 Roosevelt St. His next pre-trial conference for that charge is on Sept. 11. According to Iowa Courts Online, he also pleaded guilty to possession of precursors in 2006 and was given a prison sentence of up to 15 years.
The Camanche Police Department received assistance at the scene from the Camanche Fire Department, Clinton Police Department, Clinton County Sheriff’s Office and Iowa Department of Narcotics Enforcement.
