CLINTON — The Clinton Fire Department responded to a vacant home on fire in the early morning hours Friday.
According to a press release, units were dispatched at 1:14 a.m. to a house fire at 847 11th Ave. South. The department responded with 12 people, and apparatus including two engines, one aerial truck, two ambulances and a command vehicle.
Upon arrival, flames were seen on the first and second floor of the vacant house. A second alarm was made, which brought seven additional personnel to Central Fire.
No utilities were hooked to the home.
As a fire attack was made, the structure was deemed too dangerous to enter and a defensive attack continued.
The Camanche Fire Department responded with six personnel as a safety team, per a city agreement.
The fire was reported to be under control at 2 a.m.
The home was vacant, and there were no reported injuries. Fire crews remained on scene to watch for any hot spots.
