FULTON, Ill. — A Fulton man has been charged with methamphetamine offenses. 

Andrew L. Westphal, 25, of Fulton, has been charged with possession of methamphetamine 5 to 15 grams, possession with intent to deliver 5 to 15 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was transported to the Whiteside County Jail pending his first court appearance. 

According to the Fulton Police Department, at approximately 11 p.m. Aug. 31, Fulton Police Department officers conducted a traffic stop on Illinois 84 in Fulton. Fulton police utilized K-9 officer "Woz," who alerted on the vehicle for the presence of narcotics. 

A search of the vehicle disclosed the presence of approximately 22 grams of suspected methamphetamine, along with drug paraphernalia and related articles. 

The incident remains under investigation.
