CLINTON — Andrew Howes, a 2012 Clinton High School graduate, recently earned his master's of science in biotechnology from Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island.
He completed his undergraduate work at Case Western Reserve University with a degree in biochemistry in 2016. He will continuing working toward his PhD in biotechnology at Brown University, where he works in the Morgan Lab, which has devised a new method for cultivating cells in 3D.
His work is relevant in the areas regarding the shortage of organs for transplantations, effective treatments for fibrosis, multi-drug resistance in cancer and the quest to find new and less toxic drugs while reducing the use of animals in research.
Howes is the son of Steve and Lisa Howes of Clinton.
