DES MOINES — The Iowa Mortgage Association has announced that Kathy Klahn, Senior Vice President of Clinton National Bank, was elected to serve as president of the statewide trade association and chair the Iowa Mortgage Association’s Board of Governors.

The Iowa Mortgage Association is a statewide trade association that aims to promote the welfare of Iowa mortgage professionals and to improve their service to the community, promote a spirit of cooperation among the various people or organizations who constitute the IMA and for the encouragement and assistance of its members.

The Iowa Mort-gage Asso-ciation is dedicated to the preservation, progress and improvement of mortgage lending in the state of Iowa along with being proactive with legislative initiatives and provides members with quality, professional education. The association encourages high standards of professional ethics and integrity from member affiliates and promotes these principles throughout Iowa communities.

Klahn is the manager of the Real Estate Department at Clinton National Bank. She has been in real estate lending for 35 years.

She is one of 16 mortgage lenders in the state of Iowa who has earned the designation of Iowa Certified Mortgage Professional. To earn the ICMP degree, stringent ethical standards must be met along with testing requirements.

This designation indicates the highest degree of professionalism for lenders.
