CLINTON — April is Community College Month and Clinton Community College is celebrating.

CCC will host Iowa author Mary Swander from today until April 2 for the Artist in Residency program. Swander is an author, director, producer, member of the Iowa State University faculty and was named Iowa’s poet laureate in February.

Swander will kick off Community College Month activities by conducting in-class workshops and presenting a one-hour Readers Theater presentation of FARMSCAPE. The Readers Theater presentation of FARMSCAPE will include students, faculty and community members who will bring these characters to the CCC stage at 7 p.m., Thursday at the CCC Technology Center, 1951 Manufacturing Drive.

The Puffin Foundation, Humanities Iowa and the Paul B. Sharar Foundation for Clinton Community College provided the funding. For more information, contact Anne Schmidt at 244-7050.
