CLINTON — The Clinton Fire Department recently received a donation from Iowa American Water.

The American Water Charitable Foundation, a non-profit organization created by American Water, presented a $6,000 to the fire department.

Clinton Fire Chief Mike Brown accepted the check.

“The Clinton Fire Department and Iowa American Water have a long history of partnership and collaboration, and we appreciate their recommendation of our department for this grant,” Brown said. “The American Water Charitable Foundation grant will allow us to purchase three new video displays which will be used for training purposes along with a series of rescue tools that will further enhance our training efforts.”

Iowa American Water President Randy Moore said the foundation said the fire department was selected for the grant because employees felt the department’s work was important to the community.

“The dedicated firefighters serving Clinton devote their lives and special talents to protect the lives and property of the citizens in the community,” Moore said. “We want to recognize them and lend our assistance by providing some additional resources they need to help them do their jobs.”
